FALSE ACCUSATIONS…

Staying Strong Through The Storm

Truly there is nothing new under the sun. I went back to reading some notes I made a few years ago and I really felt that this was worth sharing with you all.

Challenges, circumstances or Murphy as I like to call him visits us all, he is frustrating, painful and terribly discouraging. This article isn’t a guide on how to avoid the hard times in life, that’s impossible. This article is about keeping your sanity in difficult seasons.

The word 'challenge' comes from the french language and had its origins in Latin.

Middle English chalengen to accuse, from Anglo-French chalenger, from Latin calumniari to accuse falsely

First Known Use: 13th century

The reason I put this in here is I want you to have a paradigm shift to your understanding of what a challenge is. The term challenge originates from the Latin word “Calumniari”which means to accuse, and to be more specific to accuse falsely. This is huge!

We need to understand that the difficulties that we face can be equated to someone suing you falsely. Every time you start a new venture, you expose an area of yourself that was previously hidden and the enemy of our souls quickly launches a scathing attack lest you believe and become converted.

For example, when you graduate your title changes from a trainee to qualified. That may seem insignificant but that title change exposes you to new levels of criticism and scrutiny that you were once protected from. The title qualified says: I am competent. I am successful. I am responsible. I can do this.

The problem for us as individuals, is that we have spent our whole lives being beaten by disappointment that we don’t trust that we have the capacity to grow into our new title. It’s not that we lack the skills to do what is expected of us but experience tells us that the false accusation is right and the biggest mistake we make is to believe it.

The word challenge is a legal term and to respond in anything outside a legal manner opens you up to a wall of pain and disappointment. The challenge raises previous failures and misgivings in a systematically cruel fashion that rob you of hope and confidence.

Our response MUST be as calculated.

The power of confession lies in the affirmation of the truth we have in us. That affirmation gives us hope to stand in the day of adversity. Confession at the root of the word simply means to say again! To say what God has already said and affirm it in your life.

In a legal courtroom if any of the participants have an emotional outburst the judge calls a recess on the hearing of the case to allow the party to gather themselves before continuing. Many times crying makes us feel better. It alleviates the courtroom pressure. But have you noticed that after the tears have stopped and we have ‘gathered ourselves’ we soon start to experience the same pressure and anxiety?

Friend, I want to encourage you today to listen to your lawyer and only say what he says. Confess the truth that Jesus has spoken over you and affirm them through confession. You may need to take your confessions like ‘gospills’ 3 times a day but don’t let your heart be deceived.

If you need to repent of things, repent! But let’s keep moving.

In the mouth of 2 witnesses every word shall be established- will you agree with what the enemy is slandering about you? Or what Jesus has declared about you?

Let’s not allow false accusations in the form of challenges hamper our destinies.

Isaiah 54:17 New King James Version (NKJV)

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,

And every tongue which rises against you in judgment

You shall condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

And their righteousness is from Me,”

Says the Lord.
